Imraan Assim was born in Ottawa and raised in Toronto. He is an active member of the Greater Toronto Area’s Muslim community. He spent his youth and young adulthood in service to the North York and Vaughan communities.

He regularly delivers khutbas and keynote addresses and teaches across the Greater Toronto Area, while also mentoring and advising MSAs, imams, and community leaders. Professionally, Imraan is a Product Owner in the digital payments industry, with experience leading large-scale business transformation initiatives across the telecommunications and payment card sectors. He has undertaken professional training and holds certifications in project management, product ownership, asset management, commercial management, and risk management.

Alongside his professional work, Imraan studies the traditional Islamic sciences at varying levels and holds certificates and authorizations in several disciplines.

He is also the Executive Director of Eternal Virtue, a Canadian registered charity dedicated to facilitating meaningful, domestically delivered charitable legacy giving. Among its most widely recognized initiatives is the Rabiʿ al-Awwal Soup Kitchen & Meal Delivery Service, which has been running for over 11 years and has served nearly 27,000 meals to Toronto’s homeless and shelter residents.

Imraan comes from a family with a longstanding love for sacred knowledge and service to the Muslim community. He lives in Vaughan with his family, and in the few moments he calls free time, you’ll likely find him on the pickleball courts.
