Sh Aarij Anwer serves as Muslim Chaplain at Western. He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science (Waterloo), Bachelor of Education (Toronto) and Bachelor of Islamic Sciences in Islamic Jurisprudence (Al-Madinah International University, Malaysia). He’s also a Zakat advisor to National Zakat Foundation and LaunchGood.

In the past, he served as Director of Religious Affairs at the London Muslim Mosque, where he helped the community navigate the trauma of the Our London Family tragedy. He appeared on numerous TV and radio shows to give a voice to the Muslim community’s pain and to appeal for change. He continues to support local initiatives for inclusivity and anti-Islamophobia.
